Preface
Husband-wife relationship is the most complex of all relationships. No other relationship is as pervasive as the one between husband-wife since this relationship encompasses almost every aspect of your personality. You interact with your spouse at your physical, mental, intellectual and emotional planes. Hence, the complexity of this relationship.

Husband - wife relationship has always intrigued me. It is fascinating to note how two human beings with different backgrounds, upbringing, value systems, priorities, geographic locations, perspectives, belief systems are brought together in this relationship and made to spend a great part (approx. 2/3rd ) of their lives. It's not that simple and easy. It's not very difficult either, if you know the principles that govern this relationship. This book is an attempt to give you an insight into these principles.

Your spouse is undoubtedly the single most important person influencing almost every aspect of your life - your attitude, your pleasures (and sorrows), your peace of mind, your moods, your health and even your performance at workplace. A domestic disharmony can result into a corporate calamity! Hence, you can't possibly brush aside this relationship. You need to look at it with due seriousness, delicacy, sensitivity, maturity, respect and skill which it so richly deserves.

Yet, this relationship is very mysterious. The secret of happy married life has always remained a secret for the simple reason that, there can't be a set of rules, regulations, work instructions and procedures to make this relationship work! As this relationship is more emotive in nature, it can't be explained, captured or solved by the logical rational and analytical approaches which you often adopt for your professional and business solutions. That's why many intellectual giants are emotional pygmies!

If you already enjoy an excellent relationship with your spouse, hats off to you! This book may serve as a confirmation of the principles of this relationship which you have been adopting. If you have a 'not-so-good' (not-so-bad, either) relationship with your spouse, the book may provide a few insights to apply certain mid-course corrections in your relationship to bring it back on a sound and healthy track. If, unfortunately, your relationship with your spouse is very bitter and heavily strained, the book is intended to transform your perspectives, paradigms and perceptions to discover your most cherished friend-your spouse!

I am indebted to my wife, Rajani who has given valuable inputs to write this book. I am grateful to many people. To Mrs. Padma Hemanth, my long term professional associate. You can see her signature in almost every activity I embark upon. To Mr. Justin Joseph who has been of great assistance to write this book and Mrs. Rama, our senior faculty. To Ms. Jyothi, my daughter who untiringly assists me in my myriad professional activities. To my son, Sriram for his valuable suggestions To Mayur Print Ads, the printer; Gopal, the cartoonist; To my staff Poornima, Janardhan and Gautham.
Happy spousing!
